LS Swap Tools

Hey Guys

Welcome back.

At G Force Performance, we're bound to have the tool or product you need for your next engine swap. So if you're a car guy, you probably have an LS engine laying around in your garage, right? And if you don't, you will.

First you start, you buy your engine. You got to store it somewhere in your garage. So better than storing it on the floor in the corner, we have our roll around engine dolly here. So you can bolt your engine up to this, and it makes it easy to roll it around your garage while you're waiting for your internal engine component, or the vehicle that you're putting your engine into.

So once you do have those parts that you're waiting on, you're going to have to put your engine onto an engine stand. So that's why we've created our engine stand adapter, which makes it easier to bolt your LS engine to your engine stand.

It allows for proper alignment so that your engine isn't cocked to the side. And, it makes for a seamless, install to that engine stand. So then you build your engine while it's on the engine stand, and then you're going to need something to lift your engine into your vehicle.

Now you can hook a chain from one side of the head to the other. And, you know, hope that it doesn't break or fall off. And then also, you're fighting with the chain being crooked or your engine going in engine bay. Or, you can buy our engine lift plate, which bolts to the center valley tray, and it allows for easy and, you know, center lifting of that engine so that you're getting it into the vehicle safely and accurately.

So then you're gonna have to build your motor mounts. And, that's why we've created our DIY motor mount kits. This one is specifically for an LS. So these have the LS bolt pattern laser cut into a steel plate. You bolt it to your engine and then you have your polyurethane bushings along with the bushing tubes hardware. You got your ears that you would weld to your frame and then weld to the motor mounts that are on your engine now.

So, now you got your engine mounted, and then you're going to need to figure out your transmission. Well. T56s are expensive. You don't want to go automatic, right? So you decide you want to put an AR5 transmission behind your LS.

We've got you covered. We have the LS AR5 adapter here. It's a very nice billet machined part. It comes with the adapter plate, the slave cylinder adapter, and a full hardware kit to bolt your LS to the readily available and, you know, less expensive AR5 transmission. It's a 5-speed, so it's nice.

So then you are going to move on to your transmission mounting, and we have plenty of Crossmembers for that. But in addition to the Crossmember, you're going to need a mount. And I always recommend are adjustable transmission mount. This is very nice because it allows for some front-to-back misalignment, which is bound to happen in any sort of engine swap. It also has polyurethane isolators in there, and it allows for the drivetrain angle built in.
