Today we're going to talk a little bit about the HP70 Tansmissions. So in front of me, I have two of our Swap Block Mock Up transmissions. One is an 8HP70, and one is a Turbo 400. So what I have found is that the bellhousing the trans mount location on both of these is very similar when using our 8HP to GM trans mount adapter.
So this trans mount adapter bolts to the back of the 8HP70, and it converts it over to a standard GM style mount. And it is slotted so you have a little bit of front-to-back adjustment. So if you take a measurement from the bellhousing to that mounting position on the adapter, you're like 26 and a half to 28 and a quarter.
And then when you take a Turbo 400 transmission and go from the bellhousing to the trans mount location, you're right around, 27 and a half. So what we have found is that Crossmembers for the Turbo 400 also work with the 8HP70. And if there's any, doubt in that, you can pair it with an adjustable trans mount, and that allows for misalignment due to different motor mounts. A lot of different swaps require different positions of the engine and transmission.
