As you may know, the 8HP70 and 8HP75 transmissions have become increasingly popular swaps. That's why G Force has created some new products to help people in their projects.
So first, we have the LS engine to 8HP transmission adapter. And this is pretty neat. It is billet aluminum, and we made this out of 7075 T6. So it is aerospace grade and it is stronger than the 6061 T6. The torque converter adapter is also 7075.
And we include both of the pilot adapters in each kit. In case you have a truck or a car transmission with the different, torque converter pilot diameters. So these pilot adapters are 1045 steel. They've been black oxided and they do press into this torque converter adapter to ensure a precise and concentric fit.
So moving on. If you're doing a swap with any of these new, larger transmissions, you might have firewall clearance issues or tunnel clearance issues. And that's where our transmission mock-up block comes in handy.
So what's nice about this, is it has the Bellhousing pattern on it, and then it also has the mounting positions for your trans mount, your oil pan, and then it has the overall shape of your transmission so that you can see what it looks like inside of your tunnel and make any necessary modifications without lifting that heavy transmission up into your drivetrain where it where it's going to go live the rest of its life.
So, this is our, 8HP70 mock up transmission. This is very handy. It ships flat, and then you can assemble at home and then it's a very powerful tool to use during your swap.
So next, we're moving on to our transmission mount adapter and then possible crossmember combinations that might work with the 8HP.
So the trans mount adapter, it bolts to the back of the 8HP transmission. These things kind of have, like, a unique mounting spot. It's actually vertical on the back of the transmission, rather than kind of like up underneath where a traditional mount would, would go. So this adapter converts that pattern [car or truck] over to a standard GM style mount, and it is slotted. So it does account for some of that front-to-back movement that you'll have in any engine swap.
So that'll bolt to the back, convert you over to a GM style mount, and then if you still need some sort of front-to-back adjustment, we recommend our adjustable transmission mount. So this will bolt to the transmission crossmember, and then the top part will bolt to the adapter. And, then you should be able to line up with the crossmember in the vehicle without doing much modification.
We do recommend using like a Turbo 400 Crossmember, because that puts your spacing in about the right location in most vehicles.
