Today I'm introducing one of our newest Crossmembers. This one fits a ‘71 to ’76 GM B Body which is various Chevy, Oldsmobile, and Pontiac cars such as the Caprice and similar vehicles.
What's nice about this Crossmember is just like all of our traditional double-hump Crossmembers it has maximum exhaust clearance, but is also designed with strength in mind. So, this is a very rigid, strong Crossmember.
Something unique about this one is that it has a modular center section, which allows it to fit almost every transmission. So along with the slotted ends and this special center section, depending on which configuration that you put this tab here, it'll allow it to fit various transmissions like I said.
So, this can go in the front if you have a shorter transmission. You can bolt the trans mount right to the center if you have like a medium style transmission, or if you have a longer transmission, like a 4L80, you can put it in the other side and flip the Crossmember around and create more rearward offset to accommodate for that longer transmission.
