Elevate Your Ride with the G Force Low Profile Transmission Mount
Extra Short GM Transmission Mount without Solid Mount Problems
Performance and Durability Combined
When you're pushing your ride to the limit, every component counts. The G Force low profile polyurethane transmission mount (GMTM-LP) is designed for the hardcore enthusiast who needs top-notch performance without sacrificing durability. Made from high-quality polyurethane, this mount is engineered to soak up vibrations while delivering the muscle needed for high-performance applications. Unlike traditional mounts that can be too tall for certain transmission swaps, the G Force mount’s sleek, low-profile design fits snugly into tight spots without compromising on performance.
Say Goodbye to Solid Mount Problems
Let's face it, solid mounts made of steel or aluminum might provide your desired low-profile, but they come with their own set of headaches. Increased vibrations and the risk of damaging your transmission case are just a couple of the issues. The new G Force GMTM-LP mount provides a killer alternative, offering the low profile you need while cutting down on vibration and protecting your transmission from excessive wear.
Enhanced Tuning and Customization
Got a need for customization? Pair this mount with G Force tuning shims (GF-GMTM-SP) for optimal performance and alignment. Dial in your drivetrain angle to match your specific needs, ensuring your setup is as tight as your style.
A Complete Lineup of High-Quality Products
The GMTM-LP is the latest addition to G Force's already impressive lineup of transmission mounts. Whether you need the standard height GMTM (approx. 2.000" installed height), the traditional short height GMTM-S (approx. 1.625" installed height), or our patented GF-GMATM with front to back drivetrain aligning adjustment, G Force definitely has you covered. Each mount is designed to handle various transmission swaps and applications, giving DIYers versatile and reliable options for any build.
The G Force Extra Short Transmission Mount
Hey Guys, Jordan from G Force.
Today I'm going to introduce our extra short transmission mount. This mount is polyurethane, and it has an installed height of an inch and 3/8ths. So there's other polyurethane mounts out there, and we offer a couple on our website as well. We have one that is inch and 5/8ths and then we have a standard height mount that is two inches.
What's nice about the extra short mount is that you can start with a low transmission location, and then you can use our shims to shim the transmission up to the right pinion angle. This is a G Force exclusive, and it is a great addition to our line of transmission mounts. What is a Transmission Mount?
In case you're new to the game, a transmission mount secures the transmission to your vehicle's transmission crossmember, and ultimately to your chassis. Its main job? Absorb and dampen vibrations and shocks from the road, keeping your transmission stable and aligned with the engine. This stability is crucial for smooth gear shifts and overall drivetrain performance.
Why Transmission Mounts Matter
For any gearhead, especially those building high-performance machines or doing restorations, knowing the importance of transmission mounts is key. Along with vibration absorption, a quality transmission mount keep your transmission in place preventing excessive movement that can lead to misalignment and increased wear on drivetrain components. This is especially vital in power-packed setups like LS swaps, where the engine and transmission generate significant torque and stress.
Transmission Mount Wear: Knowing When to Replace
Replacing transmission mounts during a swap is usually a smart move, but like any other component, they wear out over time. Spotting the signs of a failing transmission mount can save you from extensive damage and costly repairs. Look out for:
- Excessive Vibrations: Increased vibrations, especially under acceleration or deceleration, can signal a worn-out mount.
- Clunking Noises: Unusual clunking or banging during gear shifts is a red flag.
- Misaligned Transmission: Difficulty shifting gears can indicate a misaligned transmission due to a damaged mount.
- Visible Wear and Tear: Cracks, wear, or damage visible on the mount mean it’s time for a replacement.
Transmission Mount Replacement: Ensuring Peak Performance
Swapping out an old transmission mount isn’t just about maintaining comfort—it's about preserving the performance and longevity of your drivetrain. When you're ready for a replacement, keep these tips in mind:
- Quality of Replacement Mount: Go for high-quality, performance-oriented mounts that can handle the increased stress of a modified setup.
- Professional Installation: While some DIYers might take on this task, professional installation ensures proper alignment and functionality.
If you're serious about performance, the G Force low profile polyurethane transmission mount is a no-brainer. Its combination of durability, vibration reduction, and sleek design makes it a must-have for any high-performance build. Whether you're dealing with tight transmission swaps or just want to upgrade your setup, this mount will keep you rolling smooth and strong.
So, don't settle for less—get the best with G Force.
