1968-1972: 4L80E, 4L85E - Will accommodate 4L80E in some 1967's that have 8 crossmember holes on each side of the frame.
- We recommend a polyurethane transmission mount. The GMTM is sold separately.
- For 64-72 Hardtops the distance between the crossmember frame mounting holes is 53-5/8". To ensure proper transmission crossmember selection be sure to measure your frame before you order.

Our unique bolt-to-frame design eliminates cutting and welding. The distinctive double-hump accommodates true dual exhaust. A G Force crossmember is guaranteed to be a perfect fit.

This transmission crossmember is installed with the transmission mounting tabs positioned towards the front of the car and so that the exhaust clearance humps are closed on the top and open on the bottom.
If you need them, aluminum spacers are provided to customize the height of your transmission mount. Position them between the crossmember and your transmission mount. Use longer bolts to insure full engagement into transmission mount. Some applications will not require any spacers.
Some vehicles of this generation are equipped with a transmssion crossmember that bolts directly to the frame rail, while others are equipped with crossmembers that utilize tab that sits on the frame rails and are embedded with a rubber liner. The RCAE-4 bolts directly to the frame rails using the factory frame holes. Do not use the rubber liner. Instead, use the provided 7/16″ hardware and enlarge holes in your frame rails with a 1/2″ drill-bit. If you choose to use the stock size 3/8″ hardware, it is strongly recommended to use new Grade #8 fasteners to compensate.

Cross member was a perfect fit with the 4L80e behind my 455 olds BB. Also used the shorter trans mountain it was the right amount of clearance for the 4L80e with no modifications needed to the tunnel/body. Thank you for a quality product.
